Donate to the 4-H Stock Show and Endowment
Established in 1928 by the Knights of Ak-Sar-Ben Foundation to serve as a showcase of the finest livestock in the Midwest, The Ak-Sar-Ben 4-H Stock Show has grown into the world's largest 4-H only Stock Show. It's mission of empowering youth to reach their full potential as productive adults through learning opportunities which develop life skills and character has never been more important in today's society.
One Child at a Time
The Ak-Sar-Ben 4-H Stock Show draws together thousands of youths from across the United States to exhibit their livestock projects and showcase the fruits of the year's work.
In addition to the individual competition challenge to win the coveted Grand Champion title, 4-H youths take home nearly $150,000 in scholarships, premiums and awards. Past exhibitors indicate that funds are used to boost post secondary savings and purchase future animals to exhibit next year. What a great economic multiplier for the Heartland.
Long after the days of 4-H memberships are over, the impact of the show experience lives on. In a mere 80 years the character of more than 100,000 managers, teachers nurses, veterinarians and countless other professionals have been changed.
Every Child Deserves the Chance to Succeed
Providing the next generation of leaders the opportunity to shape their character remains integral to the Ak-Sar-Ben 4-H Stock Show. Donations to the Stock Show will support either the current year's show through support of the Auction Buyer's Club Purple Ribbon Auction Scholarships or through the long-term support of the Stock Show Endowment.
4-H Endowment
Escalating show expenses and decreases in corporate contributions have created an immediate need to build a $2 million dollar endowment. Annual interest contributions on the endowment will cover current Stock Show shortfalls and enable the show tradition to continue.
Those who have benefited from past Stock Show experiences understand the tof this unique shoe. Employers of the Heartland reap the reward through their employees who originate from the Midwestern small towns where 4-H is the place for leadership development. The greater Omaha community benefits from the annual boost to the economy that thousands of attendees create by their three plus night stays in the area.
Don't let the Ak-Sar-Ben 4-H Stock Show tradition stop with this generation. Consider a multi-year pledge, a one-time gift or a planned gift now. Additional show naming opportunities to memorialize family members who exhibited at Ak-Sar-Ben are also available.
